Columbus falls short to Killian 7-3
For many of the sport teams here at Christopher Columbus High School, their respective seasons are just beginning or are right around the corner. The Varsity Baseball team being one of the elite teams here at CCHS has recently kicked off their own season by winning their first three games. However they faced a tough challenger in the Killian Cougars in what was said to be a tough matchup which in fact did not disappoint.
Head Coach for the Columbus Explorers Varsity baseball team Joe Weber showed his emotions coming into this pivotal game and how his team’s expectations were to be during the contest. “You know for me I’ve been coaching a long time here at Columbus and these types of games have always been fun to take part in. I know that not only I will enjoy it but most importantly my players will”, said Weber. The game had started out neck and neck with the first few innings tied at zero, but as the game went on the scoring came along with it. In the 4th inning both teams would go on to score two runs a piece. Unfortunately for Columbus it all unraveled after that. The Cougars would go on to score three runs in the the final inning of the ballgame to put it away and lead them over the Explorers by a final score of 7-3
