Mindfulness in Columbus
Many high school students like me have five, six, or even seven classes every day Monday through Friday and it is no easy task. To wake up early for school everyday after studying for a big test can be a challenge and can cause students to either not get enough rest, build ongoing stress for class, and create distractions, but now Christopher Columbus High School is implementing a new program in which students as well as faculty can relieve their stress from the everyday busy lifestyle in which they take part of.
Mindfulness. This is a brand new and scientifically proven program which involves trained and certified teachers who perform anti-stress meditation excercises which have been known to help students cope with the ongoing stress in the classroom and beyond. “We here at Columbus feel so lucky and fortunate that we’ve been able to have this extraordinary opportunity to have our students who deal with stress around campus be able to take part in this program. It’s truly a blessing.”, said Sylvie Galvez-Cuesta, MAS Program Supervisor.
While many at Columbus will hope to prosper from this new program, many others are taking advantage of Mindfulness as well. Since the program had came about in 2016, there have been over 5,000 registered groups and schools who take part in the ever changing stress-relief excercises. From this it can be said that the Mindfulness Meditation Program will continue to spread across South Florida and beyond for a stress-free life.
