The Midterm Rush

Alright folks, it’s the week we’ve all been waiting for; it’s midterm week. With winter break coming soon, the students can’t wait to go on vacation. This is the week that student’s brains are put into overdrive. From taking tests to studying for tests, this week is nothing but a rush. Students quickly scramble together old test and quizzes and are told to make study guides. with midterms starting Monday, the students have no time to play around after school. It is time to sit down, grab your iPad, and start hitting the books if you do not want to fail the semester.
From a teacher’s perspective, giving mid year exams are a great way to test the knowledge of your students. You want to make sure that you are educating and them and also learning from them. Students are not the only people who learn when they go to school. Teachers also go to school to become better role models, teach their students, and most of all learn from your students. This year, some teachers decided not to take any midterms this year. Some teachers said that students sometimes need to rest. Other teachers thought otherwise.
From a student’s perspective, their minds are going into complete shock when they hear the words “Midterm Exams”. In order to succeed in midterms week, you need to make sure you have all the old test and quizzes. Also, you need to pay extra attention in class so you don’t miss anything. Once you have all your old test and quizzes, you can finally make a midterm study guide. The two hardest days have to be Monday and Tuesday. Just because it’s getting closer to the weekend, Wednesday and Thursday are the fastest to get through. On Thursday at 1:30 P.M., you start your winter break, and you can kick back and enjoy your vacation.
In general, midterm week is the week that every high schooler is afraid besides the first week of school. Once midterms are over some students and their families decide to hit the road so they can get started on their family vacations. Overall, students can not wait to finish midterms. They are ready to pack up their books and head for the hills. First things first, they need to get through midterms week, get the grades they desire, and put themselves through the challenge one step at a time.
