The biggest win in Head Coach Willie Taggart’s career came on Saturday, and kept the Bulls’ Conference championship hopes alive.
The words inside Raymond James Stadium Saturday night were music to fans’ ears; “What a time to be alive.”
And this might have been the best moment over the last five years for USF, who defeated the #24 Temple 44-23; their first win against a ranked opponent since 2011.
With the win against the Owls, The Bulls are bowl eligible for the first time since 2010!
USF is 6-4 (4-2), and can capture the AAC East division if they win their final two games against Cincinnati 6-4 (3-3) and UCF 0-10 (0-6). USF also needs Temple (8-2) (5-1) to lose one of their last two games against Memphis 8-2 (4-2) and UConn 5-5 (3-3).
Head Coach Willie Taggart knew just how important this win was towards a conference title.
“I would say climbing is easier than hanging on, and our guys are climbing in the right direction, This is what we want.” Taggart said after the Bulls’ big win against Temple.
“This is what we thought it can be here, and again it’s only the beginning.”
USF running back Marlon Mack continues to have an outstanding season for the Bulls; the sophomore rushed for 230 yards and two touchdowns including this 63 yard touchdown in the second quarter
“It was a huge win for this team, it was a team effort and now we have to shift our focus to Cincinnati,” said running back Marlon Mack .
The USF fans also came out and showed their support for the team Saturday.
“The stadium was very energetic, the stadium was packed, the fans enjoyed themselves and the students really showed their support for the team and we appreciate that,” said head coach Willie Taggart.
“I thought it was a dream; we saw the fans showing support for the team and we put on a show for them stadium night.” “Raymond James Stadium was rocking,” said center Brynjar Gudmundsson.
Raymond James Stadium was rocking on Saturday, especially when the clock hit 0:00 and the fans stormed the field and celebrated with the players.
Game Prediction: USF will face Cincinnati on saturday at home for senior night. I expect another huge game for running back Marlon Mack, who will rush for 150+ yards and lead the Bulls to another victory.
Final: USF 35 Cincinnati 21
