Another dominating performance by the Bulls on Saturday–they defeated SMU by a final score of 38-14.
Quarterback Quinton Flowers continued to show why he’s such a dual threat; he rushed for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns, which included this 4th quarter score that was a Sportscenter top 10 play.
After a dominant performance like this, can USF win the AAC East?
As it stands right now, the Bulls are 4-3 overall an 2-1 in conference play, which has them second in the east behind #21 Temple who is 7-0 overall and undefeated in conference play.
The Owls will host College Gameday this week, and will face #9 Notre Dame, which could be a program changer. They will probably go undefeated in conference play until the showdown with the Bulls on November 14.
On the USF side, the Bulls are rolling right now. The offense is playing better every week, with Quinton Flowers and Marlon Mack leading the way.
The defense is the biggest surprise to me, and have kept USF in low scoring games. They’re starting to get after the quarterback and forcing turnovers now.
The players have trust in each other, and feel that no matter adversity hits they can win the game. The team is starting to look like a family and that can be scary to opponents down the road.
Temple is a team that has played well all season long and been one of the surprises in the top 25 rankings. They haven’t been battle tested all year, so the game against Notre Dame should show what this team is really capable of.
Overall if this matchup happens, I don’t know who would win this game. One thing that can’t be debated; however, is that USF is improving as the year goes along.
Game Prediction: USF faces Navy this week on the road and I think the Bulls will handle business, and push their win streak to 4 games.
Final Score: USF 35 Navy 21
